Introducing Algebrix Identity 2.0: Self-Service Identity for B2B SaaS

Every SaaS product starts with a login screen. Then the requirements arrive.

A basic login screen can be built quickly. But once a product grows, identity becomes much more than authentication. You need organizations and tenants, roles, applications, sessions, MFA, user lifecycle management, security policies, audit trails, machine-to-machine authentication, branding, and a way to understand what is happening across your users.

For B2B SaaS teams, that identity layer becomes even more important.

Today we’re releasing Algebrix Identity 2.0, a rebuilt console and a self-service experience that lets you sign up, set up, and integrate without talking to anyone first.

You can start on the Free plan: free forever, no credit card required.

What’s new in 2.0 at a glance

  • Self-service signup with a free-forever plan
  • Multiple organizations under one account, with a quick organization switcher
  • Application management with templates for SPA, web, native, and machine-to-machine apps
  • Starter sample apps on GitHub for React, Angular, Node.js, machine-to-machine, and API token validation
  • User management at scale: search, filters, invitations, password resets, and lifecycle actions
  • Live session visibility with session revocation
  • One Authentication page for password policy, brute-force protection, lifetimes, MFA, and passkeys
  • Audit log with filters and CSV export, plus a sign-in activity log
  • An Overview dashboard with sign-in trends, monthly active users, and failed sign-in analysis
  • A plan and usage page so you always know where you stand

The rest of this post walks through each of these.

Built for modern B2B SaaS

B2B applications have identity requirements that go beyond username and password authentication.

You may need to support multiple customers, isolate their users and data, provide administrators with control over their organization, register multiple applications, support different environments, manage machine-to-machine access, and maintain a clear security trail.

Algebrix Identity 2.0 is designed around these requirements.

With a single Algebrix account, you can create and manage multiple organizations. Each organization provides an isolated identity tenant, making it possible to separate environments or products while managing them from one account.

For example, you could have:

  • Production and staging organizations
  • Separate organizations for different products
  • Different customer environments
  • Isolated identity tenants managed from a single account

A quick organization switcher makes moving between them straightforward.

Start in minutes, without a sales call

Evaluating identity infrastructure shouldn’t require a procurement process. With 2.0, you create your account and your first organization yourself, verify your email, and you’re in the console.

From there you can register an application, configure authentication, invite users, and have a working sign-in the same day.

The goal is simple: let developers experience the platform before they have to make a commitment.

Applications with guided setup

Most products are more than one application: a web frontend, a backend API, a mobile app, a scheduled job. In 2.0 you register each one from the console using a template for its type:

  • Single-page applications
  • Server-side web applications
  • Native applications
  • Machine-to-machine services

Each application has an integration view showing exactly what your code needs: the issuer, client ID, redirect settings, and the values to paste into your OIDC library. You can rename or remove applications at any time.

Working samples, not a blank page

Documentation explains. A running app convinces. Our public sample repository gives you starter apps you can download and run locally in minutes:

  • React and Angular single-page apps
  • A Node.js (Express) server-side web app
  • A Node.js machine-to-machine client
  • A Node.js API that validates access tokens

Each sample covers sign-in, displaying the signed-in user, and sign-out, with config placeholders for your own organization. .NET, Java Spring, Python, and native mobile samples are planned next.

Standards-based authentication without proprietary SDK lock-in

Algebrix Identity is built around widely adopted identity standards, including OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect (OIDC).

That means you don’t need to learn a proprietary authentication protocol or depend on a proprietary SDK to integrate with Algebrix Identity.

If your application already uses a standard OIDC-compatible library, you can use that existing ecosystem to integrate with Algebrix Identity.

This gives developers flexibility while reducing the risk of being locked into a proprietary authentication layer.

Complete customer identity management

Algebrix Identity provides the core capabilities needed to build customer-facing identity into your SaaS application.

You can manage:

  • Customer authentication
  • Users
  • Organizations
  • Roles
  • Applications
  • Sessions
  • MFA
  • Authentication policies
  • Audit activity
  • Account security

The objective is not simply to provide a login page.

It is to provide the identity infrastructure around the users and organizations your application serves.

User management at scale

As your customer base grows, manually managing users becomes increasingly difficult.

Algebrix Identity provides a centralized user management experience with tools for:

  • Fast user search
  • Filtering
  • Invitations
  • Password resets
  • User lifecycle management
  • Session visibility
  • Session revocation

Administrators can see who is currently signed in and revoke sessions when necessary.

This gives teams greater visibility and control over active customer sessions without having to build those management capabilities themselves.

Authentication security from one place

Authentication security shouldn’t be scattered across different configuration screens and infrastructure components.

Algebrix Identity brings important authentication security controls together in one place, including:

  • Password policies
  • Brute-force protection
  • Session lifetime configuration
  • Token lifetime configuration
  • Multi-factor authentication
  • Passkeys

MFA can also be configured at different levels, including account-level and organization-level requirements, giving B2B applications more control over how authentication security is applied.

Roles and access control

Algebrix Identity includes role-based access control with built-in roles you can assign to users in each organization, and roles are included in the tokens your applications receive. That gives your application a reliable foundation for authorization decisions. Custom roles are on the roadmap.

Machine-to-machine identity

Not every identity belongs to a human.

Modern applications depend on services, APIs, background jobs, integrations, and other workloads communicating with each other.

Algebrix Identity supports machine-to-machine (M2M) authentication, allowing services to obtain and use credentials for secure API-to-API communication.

This means your identity architecture can cover both human users and non-human workloads rather than treating service authentication as a completely separate problem.

Audit logs and compliance visibility

Security isn’t only about preventing unauthorized access.

You also need to understand what happened.

Algebrix Identity provides an audit log that records important activity and changes, with filtering and CSV export capabilities.

Teams can use this information during:

  • Security reviews
  • Compliance reviews
  • Incident investigations
  • Administrative audits
  • Internal troubleshooting

The goal is to make identity activity easier to understand without requiring teams to build their own audit infrastructure.

Know what’s happening at a glance

The Overview dashboard shows the health of your identity system when you open the console:

  • Sign-in activity over 7, 30, or 90 days
  • Monthly active users against your plan
  • Failed sign-ins and the most common failure reason
  • A feed of recent administrative activity

Social login and enterprise SSO

Different products have different authentication requirements.

Algebrix Identity supports social login and enterprise SSO scenarios, with enterprise configurations such as SSO and custom domains available through assisted setup from the Algebrix team.

This allows teams to start with the core identity capabilities they need while having a path toward more advanced enterprise requirements as their customers demand them.

Know your usage and your plan

Identity infrastructure can become difficult to manage when pricing and usage limits aren’t clear.

Algebrix Identity provides visibility into your current usage and plan limits so you can understand where you are today and when you may need to move to a larger plan.

Our plans are designed to provide a straightforward path from experimentation and early development to growing B2B SaaS applications.

Available plans

Algebrix Identity currently offers:
